Preserving Value: iPhone 17 Pro Max Glass-Only Repair
A customer recently came in with a shattered iPhone 17 Pro Max. The damage looked severe, but after inspection, we found that the ProMotion OLED display underneath was completely intact. Only the Ceramic Shield outer glass had cracked due to a corner impact.
We offered a cost-saving solution: instead of replacing the entire display assembly—which would have been expensive—we could replace just the outer glass at roughly one-third of the cost. This approach preserves the original Apple display, ensuring Face ID, True Tone, and color accuracy remain fully intact. The customer appreciated the transparency and agreed to proceed.
The repair required precision. We carefully separated the damaged glass from the delicate display, thoroughly cleaned the surface, and bonded a new glass layer using vacuum pressure.
A few hours later, the phone looked as good as new. The customer left satisfied—saving significantly while keeping their original display in perfect working condition.
